GREG Tour of the Riverie
The GREG Tour of The Riverie took place on March 5th. The evening began with a project introduction and overview, where attendees learned about the vision and development strategy behind The Riverie, a transformative waterfront project in Brooklyn. Guests then participated in a guided tour led by GREG Member Nicholas Stewart, Development Manager at Lendlease, who shared valuable insights into the many components involved in delivering a complex, large-scale residential development.
During the tour, participants explored the residences, amenity spaces, and back-of-house infrastructure while gaining a deeper understanding of the project’s capitalization, design and construction process, marketing and leasing strategy, property operations, and the regulatory and market conditions that shape developments of this scale. A key highlight of the evening was learning about The Riverie’s groundbreaking geothermal heating and cooling system, the largest of its kind in any residential building in New York State. This innovative, one-of-a-kind system harnesses the stable temperature beneath the earth’s surface to provide efficient heating and cooling throughout the building. By significantly reducing reliance on traditional energy sources, the geothermal system represents a major advancement in sustainable residential development and demonstrates how large-scale housing can integrate environmentally responsible technologies while maintaining comfort and efficiency for residents.
The evening concluded with a reception in one of The Riverie’s amenity spaces, where guests enjoyed drinks and networking while continuing conversations sparked during the tour.
Thank you again for being part of this engaging and informative event. We would like to especially thank Nicholas Stewart for planning the event and leading the tour.
