GREG’s Mission Statement & Membership Criteria
Mission Statement
The Gay Real Estate Group (“GREG”) is an incorporated 501 (c)(3) organization of LGBT professionals who (1) share a dedication to careers in commercial real estate and related fields, (2) demonstrate professional excellence and (3) demonstrate a strong interest or commitment to a civic, philanthropic, or charitable cause. GREG strives to attract a vibrant, involved membership with a diversity of genders, races, ages, incomes, work experiences and other backgrounds. GREG keeps its member informed and in touch with each other by providing high quality programs and tours, which keep members aware of late breaking developments in real estate, construction, and development. GREG presents two social events each year – a holiday party in December and a summer party in July. Attendance at GREG-sponsored gatherings and membership are by invitation only.
Membership Criteria
To be considered for membership in the Gay Real Estate Group (“GREG”), candidates are invited to submit a cover letter expressing interest in joining, together with a description of any involvement in LGBT organizations, human rights organizations, politics, public interest groups, and charities along with a copy of either their resume or LinkedIn profile. Candidates for membership are required to have two current members sponsor their application. The sponsor GREG Member must then submit the letter, CV/resume, and names of sponsors to GREG co-chairs, Guy Cleveland at guy@razorconsultinginc.com, Tracy J. Passarella tracyjpassarella@gmail.com and admin@gregnyc.org with a brief explanation of why they would be a valuable GREG Member.
Young Leaders of GREG
Young candidates (under 35) interested in joining GREG may join as part of the Young Leaders of GREG group. The mission of this subgroup is to connect young LGBT members of the real estate industry with mentors who can provide them with advice and support as they develop their careers. Members of this group will be matched with a GREG mentor who is in a sector of the industry that is of interest to them. Young Leaders of GREG are invited to all GREG programs and their attendance at all GREG events is encouraged.
